JJJJound’s latest example of sneaker minimalism drops this week, as the Canadian design studio bears the honour of introducing the ASICS GEL-QUANTUM 360 1 AMP.

The “1 AMP” arrives as the latest input in ASICS’ GEL-QUANTUM series, a franchise started by the brand in 2015 that has since become a main attraction for footwear enjoyers seeking genuinely impressive performance technology wrapped in sportstyle-defining packages.

JJJJound’s version of the ASICS GEL-QUANTUM 360 1 AMP marks the maiden voyage for the model, which also starts to roll out in “general release” form over the coming weeks.

In official words from JJJJound, the brand praises ASICS’ GEL-QUANTUM series for its ability to resonate with both performance-minded and everyday audiences, specifically ASICS’ push for the “Vis-Tech” movement — a design concept that focuses on visibly displaying the technology in performance footwear, as opposed to hiding it behind covered panels or shrouds.

JJJJound’s alignment with ASICS’ ethos on “visible technology” is illustrated with an all-white colour scheme on the GEL-QUANTUM 360 1 AMP, shifting attention to the shoe’s 360-degree GEL sole unit that’s updated to feature FF BLAST PLUS cushioning — technology introduced by ASICS in 2022 providing enhanced responsiveness and energy return.

ASICS’ usual “Tiger Stripes” are replaced with ribbed pods on the closed mesh uppers, whereas the brand’s “A” motif features on the outer heel pods, joined by “GEL” debossed on the inverse side and “JJJJound” branding on the rear heel tab and insole.

Expect the shoes to arrive in custom packaging with a spare pair of off-white laces, included to match the leather panelling used throughout the design.

The JJJJound x ASICS GEL-QUANTUM 360 1 AMP releases this Thursday, June 26, at 12:00 p.m. EST via JJJJound.com.

A global release via ASICS and select retailers takes place on July 3.
