Arc'teryx and BEAMS Mark 25 Years With KOYO — a Six-Piece Collection Led by a Revived 1998 Theta AR

Arc'teryx and BEAMS have been working together for a quarter of a century, and they are marking it properly. The ARC'TERYX x BEAMS Anniversary Collection, titled KOYO after the Japanese term for autumn leaves, lands Friday 25 September - a date that doubles as BEAMS' own 50th year in business. Six pieces, outerwear through gear, all built around the colour of a season turning over.

The anchor is the Theta AR Jacket, and it is the reason this one matters. BEAMS got Arc'teryx to go back to the 1998 original - centre flap, zip-covered pockets, the old-style pull tabs - and rebuild it in GORE-TEX PRO ePE. BEAMS' 50th anniversary logo sits on the inside. The colourblock runs Arc'teryx BLAZE against BEAMS' corporate orange, with tricolour zippers tracking the shift of autumn colour and 24K logo embroidery on top. It is ¥187,000 including tax.

Underneath it, the lineup splits between firsts and revivals. The Gamma Jacket (¥52,800) is BEAMS' first special order of that model, and its colourway is officially named BEAMS ORANGE - the first time Arc'teryx has put BEAMS' name into an official colour name. The Jogen Pants (¥49,500) take their name from a boulder problem at Ogawayama and come in Regular and Short lengths in Stormtech cotton-nylon. The Konseal 15 Backpack (¥19,800) runs Arc'teryx's 315-denier Hadron fabric in a new brown base with orange zip hardware, the Kragg Cotton LS Shirt (¥17,600) prints six of BEAMS' past anniversary products across the back, and the Gamma 5 Panel Cap (¥13,200) closes it out in 24K Black.

Buying it is the catch. Japan sales run through BEAMS Harajuku on an in-store entry lottery only - entries opened this morning and close 22 September at 11:59, with winners choosing one day across 25-27 September. Outside Japan it releases simultaneously at Arc'teryx brand stores in the US, UK, Canada and China. There is no online drop attached to it.

Running alongside is NOW / THEN, an archive exhibition pulling together 25 years of Arc'teryx x BEAMS product. New York gets it first at 45 Grand St from 22-24 September, then Harajuku from 25-27 September. Both are free, and anyone who buys from the collection gets a booklet documenting the full 25 years.
