BAPE & Comme des Garçons Announce Osaka-Exclusive Anniversary Capsule

BAPE is teaming up with fellow Japanese powerhouse Comme des Garçons for an exclusive capsule celebrating the five year anniversary of BAPE’s installation at its countryman’s flagship store in Osaka.

A significant milestone for both brands, the “BAPE STORE COMME des GARÇONS OSAKA” is living proof that ape-headed, ABC-camo’d clobber still has a place amongst the pinnacle of contemporary Japanese fashion.

This isn’t the first Osaka-exclusive capsule released by BAPE and Comme des Garçons over the course of their longstanding relationship, however the latest effort does include a rare example of CDG-branded BAPE STA shoes. Presented in clean white leather, the “CDG Osaka” BAPE STA simply features tonal printing across the outer panels, joined by a silver APE head lace charm and anniversary embellishments at the heel.

The rest of the capsule is made up of four graphic tees, plus co-branded shorts, a coach jacket, and accessories that all feature commemorative branding, including a handful of examples bearing the special ABC camo pattern dotted with the moniker of Rei Kawakubo’s brand.

The latest BAPE x Comme des Garçons collaboration is available exclusively via CDG Osaka on Tuesday, April 29.
