When it comes to Nike collaborations, Cactus Plant Flea Market tends to take the road less travelled, with each release getting weirder and wilder than the last. It was back in 2019 that Cynthia Lu’s eye-catching start-up consummated its relationship with Nike, debuting a chopped and screwed Vapormax that affectionately earned the title of 'sneaker of the year' - since then, a litany of increasingly different collaborations have surfaced, ranging from bejewelled Dunk Lows to Spongy Blazers that all run with the same bold themes that mirrors CPFM's own streetwear outputs.

This year, we are set to be treated to two CPFM x Nike collabs, the first being the highly touted, brown-toned Dunk Low (Name TBD), and this quite literal monstrosity dubbed the "Grinch".

Although technically another Dunk Low, the silhouette is formally titled the Nike Flea 1"Overgrown", but seen as we're practically in December, we're running with the "Grinch" moniker, as the uppers are plastered with patches of matted green fur in an effort to imitate the titular anti-festive character who’s grumpy disposition is likely similar to that of anyone who’s gifted these kicks come Christmas morning.

Beneath the shag, ying/ yang branding, glittered laces and alternately coloured footbeds add some minor detailing to the extravagant design, with the sole of each shoe differing between gravel-laden and smoother crepe constructions.

According to Nike, there's also hidden zip pockets in the tongue, although it's hard to tell beneath the forest of synthetic fur.

With a shock drop on the CPFM having already sold out, the next opportunity to cop the Cactus Plant Flea Market x Nike CPFM Flea 1 "Overgrown" will arise on November 29th at 3.p.m EST, on Nike SNKRS. RRP $190 USD.
