While cult streetwear brand Gallery Dept is still young in the game, it hasn’t stopped the likes of Drake, Virgil Abloh and the Migo’s co-signing the LA imprint thanks to its community driven approach and contemporary design language.

Outside of the mainline drops that Gallery Dept’s loyal following of streetwear contemporaries eat up on a regular basis, the brand has also collaborated with big players like Vans and Lanvin, now jumping on the Asics hype train to attack the GT 2160 runner armed with paintbrushes and a Pollock-inspired motivation.

The Asics x Gallery Dept GT 2160 surfaced weeks ago via grainy leaked images and officially entered the market just yesterday at Complexcon. A limited quantity of pairs released to patrons at the event and the usual reselling sites have already seen a number of pairs pop up, featching upwards of $1k USD.

Akin to its previous work on Lanvin’s Curb Sneaker, the collaboration takes a base GT 2160 and flicks various shades of paint across the front of the shoe, with a small Gallery Dept tag below the style code branding at the heel.

The reported retail price of the Gallery Dept x Asics GT 2160 is $250 USD. It is currently unknown when the collaboration will see a global release.
