Almost a year to the day since the release of Stone Island’s flagship New Balance 991v2 collab, the Italian sportswear OG will once again tackle the UK-made model, this time working on three monochromatic designs that adhere to the covert sensibilities of Stone Island’s ”Ghost” subdivision.
Stone Island has played an integral role in adding value to New Balance’s ever-growing rolodex of S-tier collaborators and following the success of the initial black/ olive 991v2 and ensuing 574 collabs, it was only a matter of time before the two regrouped to deliver another banger lifestyle silhouette.
The 991v2 is the second generation of New Balance’s premier Made in UK model, bringing about updates 20 years in the making that’ve resulted in a more rotund toebox, redesigned midsole and general streamlined remodelling of the overall shape.
The 991v2 is also home to New Balance’s space-age FuelCell technology, which imbues the silhouette with an elevated level of comfort and bounce.
Announced in conjunction with mainline offerings from Stone Island’s FW24 Ghost campaign, the 991v2 will release in beige, black and military green colourways that come into play over premium nubuck, leather and mesh uppers. Akin to the initial outing in 2023, Stone Island leaves its compass badge on the tongue, also appearing on the translucent outsole of each shoe.
The New Balance x Stone Island 991v2 ‘Ghost Pack’ will release on Thursday, September 26th via Stone Island’s online and select physical stores with a retail price of £260 GBP/ $290 USD.
