Palace x nanamica collaboration winter ‘23

Palace is in fine form when it comes to the collaboration game and after closing its Autumn ‘23 campaign with Carhartt and Avirex partnerships, the UK skate firm is heading over to the clean streets of Japan to tap in with Nanamica.

Founded in 2003 by Eiichiro Homma, Nanamica is a brand with undeniable staying power that distance themselves from trends to instead follow a nautical inspired approach to streetwear that consistently results in technically sound garments with an ultra-minimalistic presentation.

And if you thought a whiff of brazen Palace skater drip would change things, you clearly aren’t familiar with Homma’s game.

The same year that Nanamica hit the scene, Eiichiro Homma also launched The North Face’s Japan-exclusive Purple Label, who Palace previously worked with in 2021 and Nanamica’s “less is more” approach is easily discernible across both brands and in its maiden outing with Palace - the dress code clearly stated “small Tri-Fergs only”.

Outerwear is always at the forefront of any Nanamica collection and for this collaboration, Palace has delved deep into the brand’s 20 year strong archives and emerged with pieces like the traditional fishtail parka and coach jacket bolstered with bonded GORE-TEX fabrics.

Both are finished with small co-branded patches in Nanamica’s home colours.

While the outershells keep the rain out, the reversible down liner keeps the warmth well and truly “in” and can be swapped between a beige or sage green - again finished with a minor badge (on each side) to signify this isn’t your average quilted cardigan.

Finally, hoodies and tees in base palettes of grey and navy come in generous cuts with standard pocket attachments, whilst GORE-TEX caps in sage green and navy round out the capsule.

The Palace x Nanamica collection will be available in the UK, EU and US this Friday 6th October, 11 am BST from the Palace webstore and physical stores.

A release in Japan and China Saturday arrives on 7th October, 11 am JST/CST via the Japan webstore and WeChat.
