Trail Couture is Back in Salomon x Maison Margiela MM6 SS25

One of the more quietly successful luxury crossovers in recent history, MM6 and Salomon have been on a tear since 2022, consistently delivering on signature “trail couture” ventures that refine athletic gear to its highest form.

Described by MM6 as “functional and ultralight” - the eighth total collection from the brands builds on the concept of combining Salomon’s hi-tech constructive details and innovative materials with MM6’s exacting criteria when it comes to fit, colour and proportions.

The brands’ MA-1 Bomber Jacket is a perfect example of their goal to bring style, comfort and performance to even the most active urban lifestyles. Cut to a relaxed fit, the jacket is made from a translucent ripstop material boasting intrinsic windproof properties that also keeps out light rain thanks to the reflective taped seams.

MM6 does its duty as Margiela’s energy-focused offshoot by offering edgy Xerox-style photographic prints on tank tops and tees, which also represent the technical focus of the partnership with their breathable 3D bio-based polyamide material used in a seamless, body-mapped pattern that adds a futuristic touch to classic top shapes.

Final inputs in the ready-to-wear section include caps and shorts built from a fast-drying stretchy ripstop.

Featuring in its MM6 partnership for the first time, Salomon’s Spectur 2 road runner appears in palettes designed to match the wider apparel offering, coming in sleek monochrome black or ethereal pale sage.

Salomon & MM6’s staple XT-4 Mules are also reworked and updated in two new seasonal colourways that inject some much needed vibrancy into the capsule with intense hits of cornflower blue, plus a signature mix of sun-bleached whites and pale greens.

Available via both MM6 and Salomon’s e-commerce sites, the brands’ latest collection will be rolled out in two phases - first releasing on Thursday, April 17 with the ready-to-wear, black Spectur 2 sneaker, and the XT Mule in Ultramarine Blue.

A follow-up drop occurs on Thursday, May 8, when the Spectur 2 in Sea Foam Green and the XT-Mule in White/Beige Haze will be available for sale.
