Corteiz has teamed up with the legendary grime collective BOY BETTER KNOW on a new collaborative range of apparel — further cementing the brand as a genuine proponent of true UK street culture, while celebrating the 20 year anniversary of the seminal group.

Corteiz announced its brand-defining link-up with BBK by setting up a cypher for (nearly) all of the group members to perform on the streets of London, produced as a callback to one of BBK’s more iconic rap videos from 2012, known to grime heads as the “SB:TV Cypher”.

The performance is dubbed the 20 Year Anniversary Freestyle, and kicks off with some classic “Rubik’s Cube” bars from JME, followed by stanzas from Shorty, Frisco, and “Big Smoke” himself, before closing out with an extra gassy verse from Jammer — the Lord of the Mics founder who joined BBK in 2008, three years after it was founded by brothers Jamie and Joseph Adenuga, known globally as JME and Skepta.

In the video, the BBK crew models a select few pieces from its partnership with Corteiz, showing off slick reduxes of familiar staples like the BBK logo tee and “No Fear” cap — worn by Skepta, and nearly the whole of London for that matter, during the early 2000s.

Standouts include the mesh-panelled tracksuit featuring contrast piping to match the BBK branding, plus tees honouring Skepta’s 2007 album, Greatest Hits, and a mesh style depicting a blown-up graphic of Skepta’s “joker” makeup from the video where he first revealed his cult track Too Many Man.

Apart from one of the tees, which rightfully matches the disc art of Greatest Hits, the rest of the capsule is presented in a choice of black or white — following suit from BBK’s memorable merch releases during the mid-2000s to early 2010s.

This isn’t the first time Corteiz has gone out of its way to pay homage to an important entity in the UK underground scene, as in 2024, the brand borrowed the work of Simon Wheatley, the de facto documenter of grime, whose work was used in all-over fashion on a limited run of Corteiz ELITEWORK shell jackets.

The latest drop also offers new mainline pieces from Corteiz, who’ve returned from a European summer vacation to bless the streets with continental-flavoured hitters — ranging from ultra-branded sporty pullovers, to a healthy assortment of colourful tees and tops, finishing with the standout convertible camouflage jacket & trouser set.

The latest drop from Corteiz, including its Boy Better Know collaboration, will be available to purchase this Sunday at 19:00 GMT via the Corteiz website.
