Stone Island Drops “YEAR OF THE SNAKE ‘025” Capsule

Joining the bandwagon of brands taking advantage of the Lunar New Year to release coordinating apparel, Stone Island has revealed a “YEAR OF THE SNAKE ‘025” capsule, introducing one-off detailing inspired by the zodiac sign to a range of house staples.

The colour red is closely related to positive themes and ideas throughout Chinese culture, especially when the calendar resets and the cycle positions a new symbol to embody the year ahead and rather than doing the usual “snake graphic plastered over everything”, Stone Island is dropping a more subtle homage to the idea of shedding skin to conquer new grounds.

With eight different styles on offer, largely comprised of essential graphic options, Stone Island uses the luck-related shade on the individual pieces’ embroidery and stitch-work, highlighting the compass logo on caps, tees and fleecewear, alongside a jacket, sling bag and trousers constructed from Stone Island’s proprietary nylon metal fabric.

The jacket steals the spotlight with a modular makeup that affords the wearer a customisable experience with detachable hoods and sleeves held together by a quilted body section that works red stitching in a horizontal pattern that mimic the snake’s slender, limbless frame.

The Stone Island “YEAR OF THE SNAKE ‘025” collection will be available in limited quantities via the brand’s website and physical stores from Friday, January 3rd.

Prices range from $215 to $1,300 USD.
