One of the most anticipated link-ups in streetwear is finally going down today, marking the debut release of Aimé Leon Dore’s collaboration with The North Face.

Aimé Leon Dore is adding a new name to its collaborative rolodex, aiming to establish a longstanding partnership with the North Face that can match the longevity and cultural resonance of its previous and ongoing projects with the likes of Drake’s, New Balance, and Porsche.

While outdoor influence has long maintained a home within ALD’s highly referential approach to menswear, this marks the brand’s first foray into purpose-built outdoor gear since discontinuing its partnership with Woolrich in late 2023 — and who better to hold their hand than the brand that’s “never stopped exploring” since it was founded in 1966.

As expected, the collaboration revolves around textural modifications of perennial TNF pieces, including the Nuptse Jacket, Denali Fleece, and Borealis Packpack, which are joined by capsule-specific styles that play to the refined aesthetic of Aimé Leon Dore — exemplified on contemporary Firefighter Jackets and Script Logo Rugby Shirts.

A constant across the harshest of mountain ranges and sketchiest of NYC street corners, The North Face Nuptse jacket rightfully acts as the centrepiece of the collection, although shedding its usual nylon outer face in favour of luxury, Italian Casentino wool fabric that appears in “Blue” and “Kombu Green” colourings, ready to pair with matching 6-panel caps.

The same shade of cool, yet striking blue features prominently throughout the collection, especially on the “ALD x TNF” branding stack used on tees, sweats and accessories, also appearing on the leather body of Aimé Leon Dore & The North Face’s Verto Alpine Hiking shoes, which come equipped with all the trappings of a functional approach shoe, topped off a fully-waterproof Gore-Tex lining.

The Aimé Leon Dore x The North Face collection drops today, Friday, September 19 at 11:00 am EST, available exclusively via ALD’s webstore and physical locations in New York and London.

Prices range from $50 to $795 USD.
