While Palace is busy breaking new ground through its star-studded debut with Nike, Supreme is dropping a capsule collection featuring overt homages to one of its largest proponents in the hip-hop game — the Wu-Tang Clan.

Certainly not the first Wu-centric capsule to be released by Supreme, the FW25 Wu-Tang collection also won’t be the last, as the NYC skate team has enjoyed a relationship with the Clan and its members that spans the entire history of the brand so far — dating back to the early days of Supreme’s inception, when it was still an underground favourite of the group, who presided over NYC street culture from the 1990s onwards.

As the story goes, the Supreme brand name and the aspirational qualities it represents were a source of inspiration for OG member Ghostface Killah’s cult album title “Supreme Clientele” — which released in 2000, roughly one year after Supreme had released an individual tee design bearing the same font Ghostface would go on to use for his album cover.

The next “Wupreme” collab came in 2005, when Ghostface returned as support for fellow group member Raekwon’s photo tee. The entities didn’t link up again until 2018, when GZA’s 1995 album “Liquid Swords” was a subject of Supreme’s Fall Tees drop — followed by one-off pieces in 2019 and 2020 centred around the respective works of Ol’ Dirty Bastard and Ghostface Killah.

This brings us to Fall Winter 25, when Supreme is officially consummating 30 years of Wu-Tang synergy with a named capsule collection built around the collective’s signature “Killa Bee” motif, alongside visual nods to their founder and debut project that solidified the group’s “Supreme” status when they emerged in 1993.

A swarm of Killa Bees fly in on a matching Gore-Tex Shell Jacket, Cargo Pant & Camp Cap set, alongside a collectible skateboard and two jerseys applied with branding placements reminiscent of peak y2k Wu-Wear.

Honouring the man who brought the original Wu-Tang members together, Supreme places a headshot of The RZA on German-made Meissen porcelain trays and cups. The drop is complete with Supreme x Wu-Tang Clan beanies, which simply feature both firms’ logos on each side.

The Supreme x Wu-Tang Clan capsule releases this Thursday, October 30 via Supreme’s website and physical stores at 11:00 am EST.
