A Bathing Ape Celebrates its 29th Anniversary

Founded on April 1st, 1993, by Nigo in Ura-Harajuku, Japan, A Bathing Ape has undoubtedly made its mark in streetwear. Since its inception, its gorilla head, illustrative sharks, and baby monkey motifs have gone on to dominate the fits of fashion lovers around the world.

From its '90s golden era to its prolificacy in Hip-Hop culture, the label has earned its high-ranked status, sitting alongside only the best in the field. This past week, BAPE celebrated 29 years of greatness, and what better to mark the occasion than a celebratory capsule collection?

The assemblage consists of two sets of tees in black and white, both sporting rainbow camouflage graphics. One features the celebratory year while the other dons BAPE's recognizable gorilla head in multi-colored camo, a "29" speech bubble and branding below.

In the accessories department, the BAPE STA™ is given a miniature formulation, delivered in the form of gold and silver pendants. These come presented in mini storage bags and shoe boxes replicated to look like the real thing.
