Action Bronson Reveals Latest New Balance 990v6 “Amazonia”

Coming as a direct sequel to the sell-out release of Action Bronson’s “Untitled” New Balance 990v6 collaboration earlier this month, the artist’s latest creation - dubbed “Amazonia” - has received an official release announcement.

Marking the fourth time Action Bronson has deployed vibrant colourings onto the youngest member in the New Balance 990x family, ”Amazonia” is rife with shades of pink, purple, light orange and even teal across the suede and mesh uppers.

Separate from previous AB x NB collabs, “Amazonia” is the first shoe from Action Bronson’s ongoing partnership with New Balance to feature a relatively plain-coloured sole, while staple details like workwear-inspired rope laces and the artist’s “Baklava” moniker on the tongue remain.

Action once again tapped familiar faces from his “Fuck that’s Delicious” web series to model the “Amazonia” 990v6, taking to the streets of Paris to show the shoe off on the feet of various “artists and artisans” whose work inspires Bronson’s own creative process.

The Action Bronson x New Balance 990v6 “Amazonia” will first release this Friday, April 18 via the specializinginlife webstore, ahead of a wider drop through New Balance, which is expected to follow in the coming weeks.

Expected retail price is $220 USD.

Continuing with his vibrant takeover of homegrown footwear courtesy of New Balance, Action Bronson has revealed the next silhouette to come from his partnership with 2024’s hottest sneaker entity.

One of the most suitable footwear partnerships in recent memory, lifelong New Balance head Action Bronson finally connected with the Bostonian running firm in 2023 to assist with the rollout of New Balance’s 990v6 by dropping two equally colourful iterations that took the mainstream community by storm.

AB x NB works on the 1906r, Minimus Trail and FuelCell Rebel v4 ensued in 2024, again earning sell-out status with each consecutive release.

Returning to the silhouette that started it all, Action Bronson’s latest 990v6 creation presses the theme of using grandiose titles to describe a harmonious mishmash of vibrant hues and while the meaning behind the upcoming “Amazonia” colourway is still under wraps, we can rest assured knowing that the uniquely brash design motive of Dr. Baklava is still very much alive.

The plain sole acts as the only conservative touch in an otherwise positively chaotic colour combination that fuses orange suede with purple tabs and hot pink mesh.

Action Bronson’s “Baklava” moniker is placed above the “flying N” New Balance logo on the tongue, joined by functional rope laces which are included once again as calling cards of the Action Bronson x New Balance partnership.
