Aimé Leon Dore is no stranger to sport-specific capsules and if its previous works on basketball and running-centric collections are any indication, ALD’s foray into the world of golf could shape up to be a major hole in one.
Aptly titled “Aimé Leon Dore Golf”, the line is made up of staple items that embody the timeless spirit of the ALD with a greater emphasis on performance across pleated pants, polos, headgear and gloves.
According to campaign materials from ALD, the collection “offers a glimpse into Aimé’s deep-seated admiration for both the game and its distinctive style”.
The layering possibilities are all but endless in ALD’s Golf capsule, with four polo collar styles on offer, alongside the short-sleeved, hidden placket tech shirts and half-sleeve windbreakers that can all be paired with the nylon panelled jacket or convertible pullover top.
Rather than fairisle or loud checks, ALD has reworked the quintessential golfer’s vest into a microfleece v-neck, available in navy or dark green, embellished with the same ALD golf logo present throughout the entire collection.
Headgear is almost as important as the clubs when playing a round of golf and besides mesh logo 6-panel caps and bucket hats, ALD has tapped into the heyday of golf steeze to present knit flat caps and the basket weave Chi-Chi fedora, inspired by 8-time PGA champion Chi-Chi Rodriguez.
Final standouts include the houndstooth glove (left and right hands sold separately), two tone travel bag and check “Caddy” shorts.
