Aime Leon Dore x Drake’s Reunite for an Exercise in Relaxed Elegance

From NYC to Savile row, Aimé Leon Dore and Drake’s are back to welcome the most wonderful time of the year with a suave array of menswear that combines the London haberdashers’ signature relaxed elegance with ALD’s distinctive NYC-forged aesthetic.

The collection is rooted in Drake’s sartorial proficiency, with casual input from ALD that perfectly captures the modern wardrobe through a heavy cord parka, traditional knitwear, a plethora of eccentric accessories and of course, some fine British suiting.

The Corduroy expedition parka is inspired by traditional hunting jackets, given a winter-ready spin through the goose down filling and real shearling collar. The style is vintage Drake’s - taking notes from staples of UK casual wear with ALD influence on the oversized horn buttons and striking blue colour scheme.

To match the parka, a duo of earflap caps are available, constructed from the same Italian corduroy and elevated by casentino wool interiors.

One recurring item from previous ALD x Drake’s collaborations is the casentino wool fleece that this time, is presented in a full-zip format and dyed in milky white. Luxe details include diagonal corduroy piping around the collar, floral embroidered artwork and double zippers.

Classical sportswear is explored on the navy velvet tracksuit, embossed sweatshirts and preppy striped belt. The old-world influence continues on the integral collar sweater that in Drake’s own words, features a collar “rigid enough to stay up, whilst offering a graceful fold” - meaning the style can be dressed up or down, especially given the choice between muted green/ beige or vibrant blue/ yellow stripes.

Clear input from Aimé Leon Dore can be seen on the garment dyed carpenter pants that forgo the workwear staple’s typical brass studs in place of a more formal fitting that uses a cotton/ linen blend with monogram branding on the back right pocket.

Moving onto OG‘s of Drake’s catalogue, a selection of wool/ silk blend scarves and bandanas are available in various patterns that range from traditional paisley to abstract designs borrowed from Drake’s 50 year-deep archive.

A selection of ties, shirts, dress socks and Scottish-made donegal wool beanies come standard as part of the synergistic uniform adored by both parties.

Kitschy accessories like the sterling silver “western belt” ring and casentino wool saxophone ‘toy’ evidence Drake’s often fanciful outlook where ALD’s streetwear roots are commended via simple graphic tees.
