Air Jordan 2 x Union LA "Rattan" Releasing Next Week

Coming in hot off the release of its Nike Dunk Low "Passport Pack", Chris Gibbs and his creative team at Union LA have made their mark and will continue its successful roll-out of collaborative kicks with Nike.

After months of unofficial teasers, Union LA's most recent offering has finally been unveiled via official imagery by Nike. The Los Angeles-based retailer has remixed the Air Jordan 2, introducing striking detailing and updated materials in two new colorways, one of them being the "Rattan" colorway releasing next week.

The sneaker boasts a canvas and suede upper that features perforated detailing throughout. Canvas underlays are delivered in a cream tone alongside tan suede panels that wrap around the laces, mudguard, sides and heel. Golden yellow detailing peeks through its panels and comes pierced through the laces with a branded tag that reads "UN/LA".

At the neck, embroidered rings are scattered next to a branded style patch while exposed tongues sport co-branded tags. A cream midsole and outsole complement the latter while golden insoles are printed with red Jumpman and Union logos.

To accompany, Union LA has released a teaser that sees green vines and flowers cover the shoe as subtle details peek through the gaps. The flora detailing certainly nods at the possible inspiration behind the shoe, although not much has been revealed on the matter.

The Air Jordan 2 "Rattan" will be released on April 15th, 2022 for $225 at select Nike retailers worldwide.
