Asics x Kiko Kostadinov Release Novalis Season 2 Capsule

The partnership between Asics and Kiko Kostadinov continues to transcend the confines of a “traditional collaboration” and with season 2 of their Novalis collection releasing this week, we are reminded just why Asics reigns supreme where the technical side of mainstream sneakerdom Is concerned.

Designed to see wearers through everyday life, Novalis Season 2 brings about familiar staples like graphic longsleeve tees and panelled sweats, alongside a brand new tracksuit set that’s inspired by archival examples from the Asics vault, dropping in purple & red schemes with contrast taping on the inner arm and interworked jersey hoods.

The star of any Asics x Kiko show is the footwear and after months of teasers, the GEL-STYRAX will finally release in three colourways.

Providing healthy competition against the Supreme x Nike Clogposite, the GEL-STYRAX borrows from various designs birthed from the headline partnership, namely the GEL-Teremoa, which lends its outsole construction, while the forefoot logo placement shows clear inspiration from models like the GEL-Quantum Levitrack and Protoblast.

Officially the first mule to come from Asics by Kiko, the shoe is available in black, ‘dahlia’ burgundy and blue colourways, with each rendition sporting the same oblique pattern that’s chosen to visually represent the idea of “sequence, seriality and repetition”.

With stability in everyday life driving the design process, the GEL-STYRAX is built using Asics’ proprietary GEL technology structure that's imbued with FF BLAST PLUS cushioning for shock absorption underfoot - all amplified by the inclusion of a TRUSSTIC™ unit in the heel.
