‘Big Jacket’ Season Arrives Early Thanks to Palace x Berghaus

In its debut link-up with a fellow constant of British subculture, Palace Skateboards is injecting some long overdue collaborative juice to the iconic Berghaus, delivering a concise offering that truly allows Berghaus’ outerwear flair to shine through.

Berghaus has remained the poster brand for budget friendly, functional gear since Palace was merely a twinkle in the eye of London skate fiends, still standing today as a reliable source for retro-gorp outerwear, particularly towards the northern half of the UK, where Berghaus has called home since the 1960’s.

Putting the brand on a global stage, Palace is opening Berghaus up to a new generation of garm-heads with this latest collaboration, presenting a tweaked version of Berghaus’ Tempest jacket, alongside zip fleece jackets decorated with 80’s incarnate ‘Memphis design’ taping, plus coordinating shell caps and graphic tees.

Diehard ‘big jacket’ enthusiasts will be glad to see Palace has taken an anti-revisionist approach to the Tempest jacket, leaving any graphic aspersions aside in favour of the perfectly loose, functional appeal Berghaus strives for. Coming in rave-appropriate palettes of lime green and a combination of blue/ pink and yellow, the mesh-lined, nylon jacket is also available in an uber clean black colourway.

Branding across the range sees Palace hijack Berghaus’ logo that features on the front of the outerwear and hats, where the tees host Palace lettering, rendered in Berghaus’ signature style with a pop-art mountain range displayed overhead.

The debut Palace Skateboards x Berghaus collaboration is available this Friday, August 16th at 11:00 am BST. Global drop times below.
