Brain Dead x Oakley Factory Drop New Paguro Mules and Archival Eyewear for Winter ‘23

Brain Dead’s revival of Oakley’s footwear division has single-handily restored the outdoor specialist’s standing in the sneaker world, leaving an array of function-first models in its wake and while said arm remains the star of the show, Brain Dead is now exploring Oakley’s eyewear archive.

Following 20+ sell out releases of Flesh Mule and Chop Saw colourways, Brain Dead is now opening the door for Oakley to step through with a fresh roundup of Paguro Mule designs.

The Paguro is the first silhouette to be designed exclusively from nose to tail by the Oakley Factory Team, taking its name from crustaceans that evolved migrating from shell to shell, which in the mule itself, is realised through the hard-wearing, yet comfortable shell-like construction and capabilities.

The three versions of the Paguro are tailored for low light environments, coming in deep Blackberry, ultra-sleek Ink and warm Rust colourways.

While the slides are suitable for dreary winter nights, the Eye Jacket™ and the Sub-Zero sunglasses would better serve their wearer on crisp November mornings. Equipped with orange-tinted polarized lenses and flame-livery rounded frames, the Eye Jacket evokes a late-90s hacker-meets-Mad Max energy, where the latter’s angular shape and technical details scream free-climbing geek - which are both stereotypes that are more than welcomed in both Brain Dead and Oakley‘s respective circles.
