CLOTTEE Enlists Vans to Re-live the 80’s

Taking a brief break from conjuring up some of the finest Dunk collabs around, CLOT’s youngest arm CLOTTEE is teaming up with another footwear giant in Vans, putting together a three-piece collection of nostalgic kicks that point to simpler times as their inspiration.

CLOTTEE was originally introduced in 2013 as an outlet for founder Edison Chen to reach the latest generation of streetwear aficionados and as part of his ongoing education to Gen Z, Chen is calling back to the 80’s and 90’s, when arcade games had the world by the tail and the best dressed kid in town was often the one with the most vibrant style. 

Choosing Vans to present the timeless Authentic silhouette as a canvas for graphics of old is rather fitting, as back in 1982 when Sean Penn donned the iconic model in cult movie Fast Times at Ridgemont High, the Vans era was well and truly in effect, birthing a generation of “Off the Wall” enthusiasts.

Marrying Vans’ brand identity with CLOTTEE’s graphical proficiency has spawned three takes on the Authentic that are characterised by pixelated imagery, including extra-terrestrial elements and tribal patterns.
