Dior Prep Floral Birkenstock Shoe Collection for Fall Winter 2022

Showing off their Men's Fall Winter 2022 collection in Paris, Dior offered a peek at a floral-inspired footwear collection with none other than iconic sandal brand Birkenstock.

Spotted on models at the FW22 runway presentation, detailed photos shared by Dior footwear designer @_thibo show several variations of the classic slip-on sandal in earthy grey, taupe, cream and brown suede.

The classic mule sandal is elevated with sleek hardware at the buckle fastenings plus delicate floral embroidery and embellishments on a soft grey style, mirroring detail on the clothing collection itself, designed by menswear Creative Director Kim Jones.

The Birkenstock and Dior branding also runs to the very tread of the shoe, leaving a signature footprint behind with each step.

The collaboration is likely a considered decision, with Birkenstock having famously turned down past collaboration offers from brands including Vetements and Supreme, claiming: “There’s no benefit for us except prostitution”.

The Dior x Birkenstock footwear collection will launch later this year alongside the Dior men's Fall Winter 2022 apparel collection.
