First Look at the Nike SB Air Max 95 “Cactus Flower”

Considering the unprecedented success of Nike’s crossover experiment between its basketball and skate divisions in 2023, it was only a matter of time before another legendary Swoosh silhouette was recreated in the image of Nike SB.

Released in March 2023, the Nike SB Air Jordan 4 marked just the fifth time that two of Nike’s in-house labels had collaborated on a shoe, first dropping in a classic white/ pine green colourway that was assembled with the Jordan 4’s original toe box shape from 1989, paired with tougher-grade uppers and a grippy outsole designed for deeper levels of board control.

Now, the R&D department at Nike SB has returned, instead choosing to transform Sergio Lozano’s all-purpose runner into a viable skate option.

The Nike SB Air Max 95 only boosts the profile of the silhouette’s 30th anniversary celebrations, which aside from the leaked multi-division pair, will primarily benefit from the return of the fan favourite “Neon Big Bubble” iteration, which has already begun to roll out this past week.

Surfacing under the preliminary colourway title “Cactus Flower”, the Nike SB Air Max 95 remixes a palette of the same name from 2021, this time opting for a softer presentation built from suede and nubuck gradient uppers, sporting characteristic SB details such as gum outsoles and Nike SB logos applied to the reflective heel strips.

Expect Nike to divulge the official details where specific technology and construction updates were implemented to meet the demands of skateboarding closer to the official launch.
