Jjjjound x adidas Reconvene on Premium Superstar Collaboration

Jjjjound has announced plans to work on another icon of adidas’ catalogue, kicking off the duo’s collaborative stretch for 2025 by remodelling the shell-toed Superstar with luxe intentions.

Justin Saunders’ Jjjjound jumped on the Samba bandwagon in March 2024, debuting their adidas partnership with two refined colourways of the indoor sporting silhouette, attracting fans through “premium leather” upgrades and an almost “bench-made” production approach that saw adidas shift some steps of the manufacturing process to Scheinfeld, Germany.

The release was not without controversy, as despite being labelled as a “homage to German craftsmanship”, eagle-eyed fans spotted “made in Vietnam” tags amongst promotional materials, stirring confusion as to the legitimacy of Jjjjound and adidas’ claims that the Samba was actually made in the sporting giant’s home country.

Jjjjound and adidas then linked up in late June to deliver another Samba capsule, this time expanding to “off-court” active gear and accessories modelled by footballing legend Jose Mourinho.

First teased via the official Jjjjound Instagram account, the design studio will repurpose the same alternating black & white colourways featured in their debut adidas collaboration for the iconic Superstar model, again featuring tan leather linings and gilt foil Jjjjound lettering printed on the side.

A release date for the Jjjjound x adidas Superstar collaboration is yet to be announced. The shoes will reportedly retail at $255 USD.
