Kanye West Opens Melrose Yeezy Store Just Around the Corner from adidas

Kanye West is back in the headlines after a rather busy week reigniting the Yeezy brand and allegedly laying the groundwork for a new Yeezy store - based just around the block from adidas’ own Melrose bricks and mortar hub.

This comes just days after Ye held a Yeezy Season 10 event in Los Angeles that saw a room filled with bald models holding candles whilst wearing skin tight baby tees - with free admission for the public who were left equally as confused as those spectating from behind their screens. 

Reports have suggested Ye’s new plot on Melrose could just be a base of operations, rather than a future flagship for his eponymous brand, although the true nature of the blacked-out building is yet to be confirmed by West’s team…

Considering the news that adidas is being sued by its investors regarding claims of “cover-ups” taking place over Kanye outbursts while he was still aligned with the brand, it is likely no coincidence that Ye has set up shop just a stone’s throw from his former partners…

Maybe it is trolling, maybe it’s purely a business move - maybe it‘s both - but if the past week’s events are any indication, it seems the Yeezy brand might still have some life left in it.
