Reuniting for the first time in just over four years, BAPE and MCM aims to set a luxurious tone for the year ahead, kicking things off with an array of cross-sectional goods fit for any modern streetwear enthusiast.
BAPE and MCM last teamed up in 2019 to deliver one of the more memorable high-profile collaborations between high and street fashion. This second capsule is a direct sequel that very much focuses on fan service, with no detriment to the boastful nature of each brand.
Coming from the same region as Porsche and Rimowa, MCM’s German craftsmanship is the driving force behind its longevity and acts as the lead in this latest collection with BAPE, in the form of remixed Visetos print bags and accessories.
The traditional black and cognac-hued carry-alls from MCM are adorned with familiar BAPE motifs, like the overlayed gold foil ABC camo and iconic APE head - the latter of which has been remixed to honour the Lunar New Year of the Dragon. The luxury pattern spills onto a duo of pullover hoodies that combine major hallmarks from both firms, with a subtle touch of luxury on the brass aglets.
Arriving on January 5th, the MCM x Bape collection will be available on MCM’s webstore. Expect a release via Bape to follow soon after.
