Nike x CLOT Come Together on Final CLOTEZ Colourway

Nike and Clot are back to complete the trilogy of their CLOTEZ collaboration - a neo-contemporary take on the iconic Cortez running silhouette.

Nike’s latest works with CLOT take inspiration from the concept of Yin and Yang - a Chinese philosophy that describes separate entities that exist harmoniously and when brought together, are stronger than if they were apart. Founder of CLOT and co-design lead on the CLOTEZ project Edison Chen has drawn on his roots for the collaboration, which thus far, has resulted in two colourways, with the most popular acting as a homage to the great Bruce Lee through its spliced black and yellow uppers.

Building on the success of their two most recent releases, Nike and Clot are aiming for the sneaker three-peat by delivering the third and final colourway of the Nike x CLOT “CLOTEZ” project, taking things back to the 70’s, when Nike’s business model was built on track and field, where the patriot-paletted Cortez cut its teeth and played a starring role in the rise of the Swoosh.

The collaboration divides Nike’s Cortez runner into two sections, with a removable shroud that encapsulates the bottom half of the shoe, giving a spliced effect that allows the sneaker to be worn in-house or on-road. Inspired by the Yin-Yang philosophy - particularly the fluidity required to master martial arts - the "CLOTEZ" shoe can be worn with the covering layer or just as the simple Karate-inspired pump.

The latest design comes with a white leather upper and tongue, while the Nike Swoosh, co-branded tags, and heel tab are dressed in red with details on the heel through the embroidered Chinese characters for "Kung Fu". The outer shoe features half of a blue Nike Swoosh and a drawstring fastening adorned with the Yin-Yang symbol in the same hue. The serrated outsole provides excellent traction, and the detachable insole ensures maximum comfort.

The CLOT x Nike “CLOTEZ” in red/white/red is set to launch at JUICESTORE worldwide on April 7, 2023 - retailing at $140 USD.
