Liam & Noel Gallagher Reconnect with adidas on Signature SPZL Runners

Keeping the casual train going as Oasis’ “Live 25” reunion tour rages on, adidas has officially revealed a fresh collaboration between its SPZL sub-division and Liam & Noel Gallagher.

For the latest partnership involving the indie icons, Gary Aspden’s SPZL has once again plucked bygone gems from the adidas archives, this time choosing the Achille and Marathon models as tributes to the lasting cultural impact of Oasis.

The shoes in question are two designs that were once regarded as the peak of running footwear when first introduced during the 70’s and 80’s, now reborn under the SPZL banner with updated colour schemes and details that earn the silhouettes the highly-coveted Gallagher stamp of approval.

Fitting in with each of the Gallagher bros’ respective tastes, the NG Marathon SPZL features a bold navy base highlighted by blue three-stripes, while the LG Achille SPZL opts for a muted combination of stone synthetic and suede uppers finished with khaki tabs.

According to information from SPZL head honcho Gary Aspden, both Liam and Noel were heavily involved in the design process for each of their shoes, ensuring that everything from the shapes to the sole moulds were reproduced in the most faithful way possible.

Each pair features the brothers’ likeness on the tongue, with more commemorative artwork included on the packaging.

Look out for the latest Oasis x adidas SPZL release to go live on Saturday, August 16 via adidas CONFIRMED and select retailers.
