After being unveiled at Off White’s Fall/ Winter ‘24 show in Paris earlier this year, the brand’s maiden collaboration with Wilson is finally here.
The official ball partner of the NBA and WNBA is a cornerstone of Basketball and the culture surrounding it, previously appearing in a Virgil Abloh-led Louis Vuitton collaboration in 2021, where the visionary designer imbued Wilson’s rocks with luxury LV leather and now three years later, the legacy left behind by the late Abloh lives on through two special Wilson balls commissioned by Off White.
While the players that make the league rightfully receive most of the shine from fans, the NBA would literally cease to function without the main piece of equipment required to play ball and in celebration of the 111 year old Wilson, the worlds of fashion and sports collide once more to represent the past, present and future of Basketball.
Two of Wilson’s creations feature in the collaboration, including the classic regulation basketball that features Off White branding notes etched onto the orange leather construction.
Next, Off White and Wilson look to the future with their collaborative Airless Gen1 - an airless ball constructed entirely from a 3D-printed polymer lattice. The marvel of sports engineering is painted in black, with a lone Off White ‘arrows’ logo placed at the centre.
The “OFF-WHITE C/O WILSON BASKETBALL” will be available for purchase through a raffle system on Wilson’s website starting Tuesday, July 30 at 10am ET. Retail price is $345 USD.
The Off White x Wilson Airless Gen1 will release at a later date.
