Denim Tears and Our Legacy are no strangers when it comes to collaboration, the two have previously teamed up with Stüssy on several collections that always find favour with clued-up fashion heads and are now ditching the Californian beach bums for another Golden State icon in Tupac “2Pac” Shakur.

Tupac Shakur is a name that transcends a single genre, and was responsible for inspiring a generation through his sound, style and general demeanour when it came to living life to the fullest. Tupac is still considered by many as one of Hip-Hop’s greats and in Denim Tears founder Tremaine Emory’s mission to shed light on black stories, he hopes to keep Tupac’s candle burning in this commemorative collection with Our Legacy.

A press release states:

This collaboration is a symbol of authenticity, rebellion and the sheer power of music, Tupac’s distinctive and personal identity through clothing has served to influence countless artists and designers during an era that can often appear unkind in commemorating permanence.”

Referencing one of his most famous fashion moment’s, the legendary leather vest/ corset that ‘Pac wore on the cover of ALL EYEZ ON ME has been recreated for the capsule, moulding gothic crosses and silver metal work to the piece, matched with a pair of black leather trousers that when worn together, will fulfil one’s vicarious ‘ambitionz to become a ridah’.

Also citing Shakur’s proficiency to style some classic denim, another two piece ensemble has been wrangled with more silver studs across some Levi’s-crafted 501 jeans and trucker jacket.

Another, more niche hallmark of Tupac appears as a nod to the artist’s tattoo that depicts the Egyptian Queen Nefertiti underlined by “2 DIE 4”. The graphic features on a hoodie and the rear of the leather vest.

Rounding out the collection is a sleeveless cardigan, “Euphanasia” (Tupac’s production company) print mesh jerseys and tees, a velvet suit, flamboyant dress shirts and a utilitarian pair of leather Engineer boots.

The Denim Tears x Our Legacy x Tupac collection releases Tuesday, April 25th on DENIMTEARS.COM, OURLEGACY.COM and select DOVER STREET MARKET locations.
