Palace Celebrate 20 Iconic Years of Adidas Y-3 with Collab Collection, Launching Friday

20 years on from the genesis of Adidas' partnership with master designer Yohji Yamamoto on the Y-3 label, their “20 Years: Recoded” celebrations conclude with the reveal of a substantial collection with Palace Skateboards, releasing this week.

Previewed in a lookbook shot by Jack Davison - plus a teaser starring football legend Zinedine Zidane and pro skater Lucas Puig - the collection reinterprets archival pieces from two decades of Y-3 history, merging sports functionality with Yamamoto's master tailoring influence and of course the vibrant Palace spin across clothing, accessories and footwear.

Palace's reworking of the Y-3 signature pieces emphasises the skate brand's affection for their London roots, with rose-strewn puffer jackets and football-inspired jersey tops given a patriotic graphic twist.

The subtle mastery of Yamamoto's tailoring and attention to detail are also shown off across pieces including soft tailored suiting, custom patchwork tracksuit sets with tartan panels, nylon wool coach jackets and matching pants plus distinctive knitwear with sparse skeletal designs along one arm.

Joining the substantial clothing offering is a selection of accessories including a collapsible running cap, running beanie hat, a skeleton print beanie, cross body bag and a bucket hat adorned with the famous 3 stripes.

The collection is topped off with three new versions of the archival Y-3 YUUTO sneaker, giving ultimate early aughts inspiration with sporty rubberised locks over a concealed lacing system.

Launching as part of the ongoing Fall 2023 season the Y-3 and Palace collection is set to release this Friday 11th November via Palace stores, online and the Adidas Confirmed app.
