Releasing this Week: “World Famous” Supreme x Nike Air Max 1

Supreme has revealed the centrepiece Air Max 1 design from its latest collaboration with Nike, releasing this week alongside the initially teased apparel lineup and wider week 4 droplist.

Considering Supreme’s lengthy history with working on some of Nike’s more unique silhouettes, it comes as a welcome change that NYC’s premier skate brand is adding the formative Air Max design to its arsenal.

In accordance with the featuring apparel, Supreme offers up a contrasting selection of base and bold-hued designs, starting with clean white and black, before choosing shades of purple and yellow to adorn the Air Max 1’s leather uppers.

The design includes collector-favourite hallmarks such as mini-swoosh’d mudguards, box logo lace charms and stacked co-branding on the tongue, where Supreme adds texture in the swoosh department with subtle snake-print embossing before signing off with tonal “1994” embroidery on the eyestay.

The only major design changes come towards the rear of the shoe, where Supreme leaves its “world famous” slogan at the heel and its own moniker moulded into the grooves on the midsole.

The Supreme x Nike Air Max 1 drops this Thursday, March 20 via Supreme’s online store and physical locations across the globe. Retail price is $170 USD.

A release in Asia follows on Saturday, March 22.
