Rick Owens DRKSHDW x Converse TURBOWPN & TURBODRK Release Details

Ever fancied a pair of those Rick Owens Geobaskets, but didn’t want to go through the hassle of haggling with a Grailed archivist or paying double the retail price? Well hold on to your leather gimp suits, because Converse is prepared to let you live vicariously through their latest collaboration with the minimalist arm of the Rick militia.

Rick Owens DRKSHDW is heading up the collaboration, delivering two rather different silhouettes that evoke the designer’s own gothic extravagance, presented under the guise of good old fashioned Converse pumps. 

Starting with the more familiar of the two, the Chuck 70 TURBODRK has been plastered all-over with a shag of zebra inspired fleecing, donning more warped elements on the square toe and elongated tongue, which also spells out the shoe’s moniker, with the 'All Star' badge standing out like a sore thumb in its usual ankle-centred abode. 

The second shoe of the pack is actually a remodelling of the near 40 year old Converse Weapon, which has been heavily revised through the eyes of Rick, to emulate the shoe that gave the designer his break. The TURBOWPN’s specific shades of cream and black are instantly recognisable as tropes copied over from the Geobasket, which sees further DNA spillage on the leather uppers, lengthy tongue and vulcanised sole. 

Both shoes from the latest Rick Owens DRKSHDW x Converse capsule will be available on Nike SNKRS on January 10th at 3.p.m EST, priced between $170 and $200.
