Salomon Teams Up with Jah Jah to Symbolise the Power of Community

For its latest collaboration, Salomon is linking up with none other than a vegan restaurant, in an effort to exhibit their joint passion for a good product, be it a quality pair of kicks or some good old fashioned soul food.

The collaborateur in question is Parisian cuisine staple Jah Jah, a restaurant heralded for its menu that draws on the heritage of owners Coralie Jouhier and Daquisiline Gomis, who come from Afro-Caribbean backgrounds and as such, perpetuate a sense of unity through food and other community-based activities.

The latest Salomon x Jah Jah collaboration debuted during Paris Fashion Week, showcasing a special pair of MOC RX 3.0’s that honoured the Caribbean and African communities with three simple colours that hold more than meets the eye, creating something more than your typical collaboration that better suits the definition of a true “symbol”.

The semantics behind the colour choices are as follows…

Red is indicative of the warrior spirit of the African nations and also signifies the sacrifices made by Africans throughout history in their quest for freedom and equality. Yellow nods to the vibrant spirit and mesmerising colours that can be found anywhere on the Eastern hemisphere, where green focuses on the land, earth and natural commodities that fuel the fire, especially within the earth-conscious practices at Jah Jah.

The Salomon x Jah Jah MOC RX 3.0’s colour combination evokes the innate power found within African and Caribbean communities and the value that comes from embracing ones roots.
