U.K based retailer size? continue to deliver tasteful collaborations with the sneaker industry’s biggest names season after season, classics such as the Nike Air Max “Dusk ‘til Dawn” Pack and the esteemed, long-running adidas “City” Pack are well deserving residents in the sneaker hall of fame and have assisted greatly in size?’s transcendence from community focused retailer to a force to be reckoned with in the wonderful world of collaborations. Completing the holy trinity, size? have begun to work more frequently with New Balance, recently taking the 550 Basketball Oxford into nature, flipping the silhouette on its toe-box with three outdoor-focused, suede iterations.

While New Balance’s 550 is one of the more mainstream hits from the brand, their resurrection of running models like the 2002r and in this case, the 1906r have been received with open arches. Although the 2002r is by no means a niche silhouette, the 1906r is only now beginning to test the waters of collaboration, with thisisneverthat debuting their campaign for their take on the retro runner just last month.

size? have taken to social media to tease their renditions of the lifestyle model, exhibiting masterful use of colour, breathing fresh air into the tech-filled shoe with a double-feature outing that is set to release in the coming months.

The pair that takes the spotlight on the Instagram post immediately catches the eye with a concoction of muted blue mesh, offset by a darker-toned, navy exoskeleton and burnt orange lining and lace-work. The 1906r uses the same trademarked “N”ergy sole technology as seen on the 2002r and 860v2, providing a tough wearing tread that can serve its wearer across multiple lifetimes. The standout piece of engineering on the 1906r comes in the form of the “N”lock lacing that can be tightened or loosened to give the ultimate fit and accentuate the comfort of the design.

Another colourway appeared in the top right of the post, detailing a teal and black version that evokes the eccentric sportiness of Kiko Kostadinov’s Asics reign.

Expect the size? X New Balance 1906r collaboration to release within the coming months.
