After slowing down on world domination since expanding to Shanghai, China last year, Supreme will finally unveil its latest storefront in Miami this week, gracing the southern quarter of real-life Vice City with a 3,735-square-foot space nestled in the heart of the Design District.
Supreme Miami marks the sixth store opened by the brand on American soil, joining Chicago, New York, San Francisco and Hollywood as the next city to be blessed with the ultimate streetwear tourist trap.
With design input from the likes of Rita Ackerman, Mark Gonzales, Nate Lowman and Weirdo Dave’s Fuck This Life, Supreme Miami extends the gritty, borderline provocative art stylings of its previous locations, with backup from NYC-born Miami transplant Harmony Korine, who also provides artwork for Supreme’s latest East Coast outpost.
In what has become a must-see feature at nearly every Supreme physical location, the brand once again includes a suspended skate bowl above the main shop floor, courtesy of architectural studio Simparch - the same firm who put together Supreme’s first ever suspended skate bowl at their store in Fairfax, Los Angeles, when it opened in 2004.
To commemorate the opening of Supreme Miami, the brand is releasing one-off tees and hoodies fixed with ’snow-camo’ print box logos at the front and the store’s address at the back. The designs will be available exclusively at Supreme Miami when it opens this Thursday, April 10.
