Prada's New Carry Is a Quiet Bag in a Loud Season - $2,600

Prada has given the Carry its own line in the Essentials range, which is the tell that this is meant to last rather than pass. After a Fall/Winter 2026 season led by the Buckle's hardware statement, the Carry goes the other way: a roomy, sober silhouette in calfskin with nothing on it but an embossed lettering logo and what Prada calls archive details.

The mini, reference 1BA496, is the one to know. It measures 21cm high, 19cm wide and 7cm deep - small enough to read as a top handle, deep enough to actually hold a phone, a card holder and a small wallet. Double leather handles do the hand-carry, and a detachable adjustable leather strap takes it crossbody, running from 105cm to 112cm with a drop between 54cm and 58cm.

The rest is deliberately plain: metal hardware, magnetic closure, logo-print nylon lining with a patch pocket. Five colours are live on Prada's US site - Black, Sand Beige, Cognac, Clay and White.

At $2,600 it sits well below the Galleria money and squarely in the zone where a bag gets bought rather than admired. That, more than the design, is the interesting part: Prada launching a new named line at an accessible entry price in a year when most houses are pushing the other direction.
